i dont play it but i bet its very hard. you could get lessons.
yeah hella easy…..go to ultimate-guitar.com look for songs you like that sound easy and just play. it will show you where to put ur fingers. and you can download powertab. it will tell you when to pick or strumm the chords
That would depend on how good a teacher “Scratch” is?
If you have an ear for music, try the piano. Much more rewarding. Guitars accompany. Piano music is complete in itself.
First learn tablature its really not that hard to learn. Learning to play guitar takes a lot of practice and patience. You can learn by yourself but I would recommend an instructor or maybe somebody you know who plays guitar can help you out. Any kind of guitar is ok for learning on. If you want to play acoustic guitar, I would go with nylon strings not steel strings. Steel strings have a tendency to give you blisters, but once you build up some calluses you’ll be ok.
Good Luck!
don’t look at it for being easy. if you really love it youll want to keep playing it no matter what. take music classes in your school. do it for the fun and love of it. peace!
The guitar basics can be learned quite quickly.
However it gets much harder and is very frustrating you have to have a lot of dedication and of course talent to become a great guitarist.
you can teach yourself the guitar. but if you want to get good it will take about at least 2 hours of practise EVERY day.
It depends on what sort of music you want to play ; just simple pop songs or really complex solo jazz guitar.
I recommend getting an electric guitar (YAMAHA or SQUIER) for beginners because for about $200 you can get yourself a nice guitar. But it is hard to get a good acoustic guitar for that money.
But if you want to play classical guitar then you have to buy a nylon string acoustic guitar. Take sombody along who knows about guitars.
DO NOT LEARN TABLATURE ; LEARN HOW TO READ MUSIC PROPERLEY, IT IS NOT THAT HARD.
Ignore what somebody said about the guitar only accompanies. This is totally wrong. The guitar can sound like a whole orchestra if you are good enough.
Bit late at night…I’m a bit drunk…
There is no end to learning music.
No one ever learnt anything that wasn’t from ’scratch’.
I have been playing guitar, piano and drums for 39 years…I never had a lesson from any music teacher.
The best kind of guitar to learn on, is the one that you play your first chord on, the one you make your fingers bleed on…and the one that you stroke those chords on while you absent mindedly gawp at the television.
The reason music is an art…is because the only real thrill it can offer is the surrender of the soul to learning.
It’s only as hard as you make for yourself. If you spend the time to learn it, you’ll be fine.
Also, starting from scratch will hurt if you don’t have calluses but not long after it won’t be hard at all.
If you do wish to advance, start off with an acoustic, preferably with metal strings to toughen your fingers.

i tried learning the accostic guitar when i was 10.. wasn’t for me.
i play keyboards, but a lot of that is more about knowing what sounds good, yes i have to play it but thankfully can edit it also. I can’t play drums but do string arranging and drum programming.
you can teach yourself.. a lot of guitarists are 3 chord wonders.
put the time in, anything possible =)
i found it easier to learn how to play bass guitar first ,only 4 strings;) ,its good to start out playing by ear at first, then there are many dvd’s that show you how to start with the basics instead of how to play a song ,learn the chords develop your own songs!
I would say that all depends on your enthusiasm and how bad you want to play. I`ve been playing for many years now and i taught myself and i`m still learning. I don’t think you ever do stop learning ya just get better and discover new things to do and when ya master something that you have been trying the buzz the sense of self satisfaction is wonderful. So I would say to you this. In the beginning it can be quite hard. Its making your fingers go where you want them to go. Once you have your fingers moving and you have learnt even just 3 chords you will be amazed at what you can do with just that. Then the fun starts ;O) Music is a wonderful way to express yourself or even get to know yourself. DO IT! you will find it hard to Begin with but perseverance and you play as well as anyone else. Remember There’s a few different types to choose from too, Acoustic, Electric or even bass. One other thought. Decide on what you want to play go to a music shop have a feel of the different guitars and don’t buy cheap. these packs that cost a £100 for a guit, amp, strap leave em well alone. a professional musician will even find some of these guitars hard to play a learner well. like i said go to your local music shop talk to them and they will help you as much as they can i`m sure. Hope this helps
Guitar is not as easy as some think….maybe if you want to learn a few power chords it’s not to bad but to learn guitar correctly I would say about three years at least. I’m talking about learning to read music, play notes, chords, and know about scales, keys etc . As for learning from a book….it probably will take longer….that’s been my experience with strudents that I’ve had….the ones who try and teach themselves out of a book don’t do as well as the ones who have had teachers. Today online has sites that I think are great…if you don’t want a teacher….I don’t think to much of the free sites…but they can get you started. The other sites have online lesssons, DVD’s, videos, Cd’s, and books that I think are really good….I wish that I had acess to these years ago. Here are some of the free sites :
Great Sites : (click on guitar) (free electronic tuner on homepage, upper right hand corner)
As for guitars….I tell my students that are just starting out to try the Yamaha acoustic….you can get this at the Guitar Center for $200.00 dollars….even less on sale…and the clerks there are very good at giving you a deal…just ask….make sure that if they have five or eight of them to play them all…as they all have a little different action and feel, they may all look alike but they don’t all sound alike….even if it’s the same make guitar !!!!!!!! Go up and down the fingerboard checking the notes to make sure that there are no buzzs, sometimes the frets are off, or the neck is warped, so check it out good !!!!!!!!
You should be able to get something out of one of these sites that will help you….good luck…and good bye !!!!!!!
Find a good teacher and take lessons. It will be worth it in the long run even if only for your own entertainment.
I bought Bert Weedon’s Play In A Day guitar book in 1962, still can’t play it .
It all depends on how good a teacher scratch is
It depends on you!! if you Just use books you can find it difficult and boring- but there are loads of other ways of learning- such as : -
- ultimate-guitar.com has good lessons for beginners
- youtube- search “beginner guitar lessons” and LOAds come up
- any friends that know how to play?? that can be great for motivation and playing with other people
- Books are okay- go to your library and get them for free!!
- Listening to music that you want to play and trying to play along and figure out the notes can be a good way
- get a program like magix music maker etc- so youcan slow tracks down
- a metronome really helps!!!
well thats how i have been learning anyway!!! its good to learn some chords and major scales- but dont go too crazy!! get some songs and learn them as you go- its much more fun that way. Also learn how to read Tab- it will help alot.
Hope that helped x
